BARRELS & BELLS
Barrels and bells make a huge difference to the sound of a clarinet and enable the player to create a unique sound profile.
LC Craven Sonoro barrels and bells are available in three styles, each with their own unique sound density:
Rotundo - silky, sophisticated, rounded. Gordo - lugubrious, sonorous, rich. Profundo – darker, more focused and centred.
All barrels and bells are made of Mpingo / Grenadilla wood and are certified sustainable by our manufacturer. Colour of wood may differ considerably from product to product.
Some of our barrels and bells are laminated* with brass/metal inserts at both the tenon receiver ends to prevent cracking. Some Bb and A clarinet bells however are not laminated but have an extra thick tenon wooden receiver to reduce the possibility of cracking. It depends on stock levels as to which version can be ordered.
