Prototype Sonoro C clarinet

This unbranded prototype nickel-plated 18 keyed C clarinet is a forerunner of the ringless versions now branded as the Sonoro Craven SM range. It has all the same acoustical features as the latest SM C clarinet and is offered for sale by the Clarinet Company as a one-off bargain at £750. It was not originally part of our stock and not for sale as it was used as a very occasional demonstration model but we have decided to offer it as a barely used bargain. The price includes a custom wooden barrel and bell in Grenadilla wood, also known as Mpingo / Ebony (worth over £240), and these make a huge difference to the depth of sound that can be obtained.

The clarinet comes in a “Reed and Squeak” stylish case with shoulder strap, plus a Craven Sonoro pro mouthpiece worth £190 and a Silverstein Cry04 ligature, usually costing around £170 , Ultimax cork lubricant and swab. So it comes with £600 worth of top accessories free of charge. This is a genuine bargain and anyone looking for fantastic value would do well to snap this one up - there is only one so when it’s gone and it will not be repeated. This is an honest reduction based on the time we have had the instrument, not because it is inferior in any way - on the contrary we built the new design based on this model.

It comes with all the accessories at this all-inclusive price, and demonstrates our ethos to give players a chance to afford a great clarinet at fair pricing, hand-finished and tuned by Leslie Craven.
